At some point in most E-Fedder's careers, you are bound to get screwed over. What I mean is that you have posted a great roleplay or two and, after reading over your opponent's roleplay(s), smile, and sit back to wait for the results to tell you "how" you won. You've read the roleplays and found that there is no way you can lose. It's not ego talking, it's experience. In your mind, it's not even close. Sure there are times you may read RP's that might beat you, but we are just considering those that you are extremely confident, do not measure up to what you have posted.

Well, imagine your surprise, when the results come out...and you read your character getting pinned to the mat. HOLA HANDBASKET! Are you kidding me????? What in the blazes has happened??? Well...smile, you've just been screwed over.

So, what do you do? Is your career in this fed over? Well,if you have any sort of self respect...yes it is. The reason being, you were screwed either on purpose, or unintentionally. Let's look at both reasons shall we!

Having the better roleplayer lose on purpose is usually done for the following reasons...
-- Just so your friend can now brag they have a win over you.
-- The owner/staff/judge doesn not like you personally, and will not let you score any wins as long as they are in control of your fate.
-- The people judging your RP's have very little experience judging various styles of RP's and do not understand your style.
-- The people judging your RP's have tons of experience but only perfers a certain style over all others..
-- A win by you, would screw things up storyline-wise, so even thou the rules state that wins are based on RP's only, you are given a lose.

Well, now. Can you honestly say, you would be comfortable with the owner telling you either of these things when you PM him/her to complain about your lose? Didn't think so, because each case has no real solution and shouldn't have occurred to begin with. It's a major insult to you, as a person and to your respect, to have to put up with such actions.

But what about the other reasons? What if it was done unintentionally? Well, if it was done this way, your loss can be blamed for the following reasons...

-- The people judging your RP do not understand the elements of what you think makes your roleplay good and thus, did not understand your RP.
-- You out-roleplayed your opponent, but due to a technicality you had to be penalized (ie... your tag partner didn't RP... or, you were supposed to post 3 Rp's and only put up 2...etc, etc).

But are either of these reasons any better than the others? No, not really. The fact is, you did some serious work for a RP, probably better written work than your opponent and yet, you lost... and your Fed let you down. Now do you acccept this and just wash it away and try to continue onward? Well, most e-Fedders have to. Why? Because if you do not accept getting screwed over you'll have to speak up, complain, or even quit. It's at this point that you really start to get screwed over.

By standing up for yourself, you'll most likely be branded a sore loser, whiner, and someone whom takes things too seriously. "It's all a game" you'll be told and people that listen to your complaint will take this stand and they will view you as a complainer for doing not thinking the same. No judge, staff or owner is going to post that they were wrong to screw you over, because if they did, it would expose the ractual eason they did it... or if unintentional, they will not able to see why you are complaining in the first place anyways, thus viewing your complaint as baseless.

In short... if you out roleplay someone and end up with a lose, you've been screwed... no otwo ways around it. If you stay, you expose yourself to future insults and attacks on your repect by letting everyone know that you'll put up with it. Or, you can stand up and complain, and get shafted as a sore loser.

Either way... you're screwed.
