My oh my where has the year gone? Another 365 and 1.4 days has come and gone… the hangover is finally a faded memory and it’s time to look forward to 2010. Just one final chore to do before I can do that thou… hand out my self-named SALLY AWARDS. Again, I did not put a ton of effort into the graphic portion of the awards, so if you are looking for one of those iconic signature bars to place under your account at whatever place you hang, you’ll have to make your own. Thou I do suggest you do one a weeeeeeee bit better than the one the VWF uses. No offense guys but that thing is butt-ugly!

Anyways, most E-Awards cover things like RP’s, fedheads, feuds and such so I decided to recognize E-Wrestling achievements that do not have their own category. Also, I wanted to make sure that these areas I give out Awards in, do have some sort of impact on the game we play. So when you scan over the Awards and see who did what, I hope you see the value that I have placed on these people’s and places and their 2009 contributions to the e-Wrestling world. So… the first envelope please !!!!

GREAT E-WRESTLING IDEAS:

  • ”OSeW year end awards”… yes, an award for an Award. Weird when you think about it. But the OSeW is strictly for female wrestlers and websites. All the same categories that the males enjoy such as feud of the year, best face, etc, are given their time in the limelight. A guess it makes up for getting stuck in Diva Divisions by uncreative thinkers that shout “realism” when females want to compete equally with the male wrestlers (but that debate is for another time).
  • ”E-Prentence”… The E-fed Knights held a unique contest where contestants competed not just in a mere RP battle, but in a constantly changing environment as the contest goes forward. Sorta like a series of mini-tournaments instead of one big one. A truly great idea that should be recognized for the creativity of it’s concept. A true test of a player’s e-fedding skills, and isn’t that what you want to see in your tournament winners?
  • EBWF’s explanations”… This e-fed actually placed judging explanations under some of their results so that roster members would not only see who won the match, but why. No need to ask for feedback because it was right there in the results. A brave step indeed.

    GREAT FEMALE NAMES:

  • ”Krystal Meth” from Pride World Wrestling. A great play on words and a great name that invokes the dark images and toughness of the illegal drugs trade.
  • ”Vasilissa”… from Full Throttle Wrestling. A strong sounding name using the singular-image method. I like names that could be or compound verbs such as “pull up those pant buddy, you’ve been Vasilissa’d!!!!”
  • ”Lust”… from Dynamite Wrestling Entertainment. A lot of male wrestlers have macho sounding names, well this female has a definite female name that sends a clear, strong, attractive message to all that hear her name.

    GREAT MALE NAMES:

  • “Ragnor Nimmick”… from Lion’s Den Wrestling. Maybe it’s because I used to love playing Dragon Warrior 2 on the old Ninetendo, but I just love this name. It’s so far above the crowd of cliché “Icons” out there that it isn’t funny. No really, it’s not funny!
  • ”The South Street Menace, Jay Price”… from Wrestling Championship Federation. The old-school name reminds me of the monikers from the 70’s & 80’s when Junkyard Dogs, Executioners, King Kong’s, Dirty Dicks, and Outlaws roamed the rings. The names were tough sounding for their time, but when viewed today bring up images of, well, old school wrestlers with beer guts.

    GREAT FED NAMES:

  • “Lion’s Den Wrestling”… just screams of fighting and survival. It’s what you want people to imagine when they red your Fed name.
  • ”God’s & Heretics Wrestling”… In a world of egotistical E-fed gods, a place that advertises itself as a place for Gods surely must stand out in a crowd. It may or may not be about Gods, but the name is enough to make you stop and notice it.

    MOST UNDER-RATED PLAYERS:

  • ”Chris Saint Blaise”… from Mayhem Wrestling Entertainment. I’ve never seen this guy on anyone’s Award ballots. Heck, I never hear anyone say they even heard of the guy. Well, I know who he is and I urge others to search him out and see what he’s all about. Entertaining without being long winded. Good RP’s in 2009 that need to be recognized.
  • ”Syndicate Wrestling And Tradition”… a small inter-fed community that is very close to becoming a force in the e-fed world, if it can get other inter-feds to realize they are around. With a dozen feds connected to it, none of which I’ve ever heard of it’s clear there are pockets of e-fedding out there that no one is aware existed.

    BEST LOGOS or GRAPHICS:

  • Action Packed Wrestling Logo… the pictures selected for the interior of the bold letters were clearly chosen and arranged so as to covey the namesake of the APW, that of action!
  • Complete Carnage Wrestling Logo… the basic blue background is used well with the white letters and blurred red images in the back. Simple, but strong.

    GREAT E-FED COMMUNITES:

  • E-Fed Knights of the Round Table… the only community that was relatively flame-free, active and the home for most of the respected e-fedders. They did what they set out to do, provide a place for e-fedders to come. They didn’t try to change the e-fed world or reinvent the wheel, they just provided a website where mature, experienced fedders could go and unwind. Plus the podcast was killer-cool (when they got off their lazy butts and did them…lol) The EFK had everything a fed-head wanted, tutorials for the newbies, a shoutbox for the bored peeps, contests, discussions…etc. What’s not to like?

    GREAT TAG-TEAM NAMES:

  • ”Livestock & the Gutch”… from Phoenix Valley Wrestling. The funniest name I’ve ever heard of. Plain and simple.
  • ”Hobo Nation”… from Xtreme Pro Wrestling. Another side splitter. If they had a trading card, I’d collect it.
  • ”Reign of Fire”… from the American Championship Wrestling. A solid name that invokes strength, temperament and ability. Plus the play on words with reign, as in title reign is very clever.

    GREAT E-WRESTLING MOMENTS:

  • November 25th, 2009… “Triple B exposes Sybill’s criminal record”… Most people “say” they can prove others are dirtbags but Triple B really came through. He showed that old SyBill truly was a petty criminal that broke into cars, phoned in bomb threats to schools and pee’d in vehicles. That is so much ownage that SyBill’s ancestors (since he will never reproduce) three generations back are affected and must hang their mummified heads in shame. Oh, the humanity.
  • June 1st, 2009…”Simcoe County Championship Wrestling reopens”… the fabled SCCW and it’s original owner Cory return to the e-Wrestling world. Since it’s return the SCCW has been considered for numberous fed awards and Cory himself has been inducted into EFK Hallof fame for both his fed as well as hisself as Fedhead. A lot of history with SCCW and it’s other incarnation COPW with Cory at the helm of both. If ever there was an E-fed to bring back, it was SCCW. Bravo!

    GREAT E-FEDS

  • ”Volitile Wrestling Association”… 33 regular shows, plus 5 ppv’s last year. Weekly awards to keep the roster members happy and a top 10 posted after both a Chaos & Rapture show is done. Add to this in-character show reviews and you got yourself a reason to show to play each week.
  • ”Viking Wrestling Federation”… A second year in a row winner. Plenty of titles, plenty of cards, plenty of opponents with 47 roster members. They have a podcast (that needs to occur more often), trading cards and free graphics for your character. Plus they have been open for 11 years so they must be doing something right. One of the rare places that has been successful using both real and created wrestlers together.
  • ”New Championship Wrestling”… A rarely talked about e-fed that is quite active on it’s own. An average of 25 different members stop by each and every day. A very active shoutbox and plenty of RP’ing activity with 43 listed on the roster. They held two shows a week (Collision & Trauma) and sometimes even three shows a week by add the show called “Suspense”. Any fed that can do that much for their players is really, really dedicated. Very readable results that do not get too out of hand in their length.
  • EBWF… According to one of their own posts, the initials do not stand for anything. I gave this ward out because the EBWF is actually one of those WWF style feds that only accept real wrestlers. 99.9% of those kind of e-feds only last about 2 months before folding up and blowing away. Well, these guys/gals have been around for 7 whole years. A truly great accomplishment worthy of an award.

So, there you have ‘em, the 2009 SALLY AWARD winners. Each one I feel had made a very positive contribution to the e-world in their own way and deserve any praise I may so humbly heep upon them. Please give them a hand, and do try to look them up while you are out there on the www because these are truly some fantastic people and places.

    Toodles!
